Alfred W Brock was born about 1831 in Danby, Tompkins, New York, United States. He was a son of Phebe Woodruff and Thomas Brock. In 1850, he lived with his parents and siblings in Danby.[1] In 1860, Alfred worked as a farmhand and lived on his brother Henry Brock’s farm in Grand Rapids, LaSalle, Illinois.[2]
Alfred married her sister, Hannah Woodruff, on Dec 5, 1860 in La Salle, Illinois.[4] Alfred and Hannah moved back to Danby, Tompkins, New York where Alfred was a farmer for the rest of his life. They had seven children together.[5][6][7] An 1866 land map for Danby, Tompkins, New York has Alfred owning land [#1] next to his father [#2].[8] Alfred was listed in the 1868 "Gazetteer and business directory of Tompkins County, N.Y.," as a farmer in Danby. He owned 100 acres of land.[9]
He wrote a will on June 15, 1895 in Danby, Tompkins, New York.[10] All his children were given land after Hannah dies except his sons, Chester and Arthur. Alfred died on December 30, 1895 in Danby.[11]
