With the formation of Perry Co., KY, John Bolling is taxed within Perry Co., KY from 1821 through to 1844[4]. He is taxed for land along the Middle Fork in both Perry & Clay counties.
The 1830[5] & 1840[6] censuses of Perry Co., KY record his household.
He is last taxed in Perry Co., KY in 1844. Starting in 1846[7] , his widow, Susan, is taxed within Clay Co., KY for land on the Middle Fork in Perry county.
Thus, John Bolling is believed to have passed ~1844 in Perry Co., KY.
In 1848, the heirs of "John Bolin, dec'd" come together to sell land formerly belonging to their father along the Middle Fork spanning both Clay & Perry counties[8].
Research Notes
Name
John Bolling's surname was also spelled as Bolin and more frequently as Bowling. [9]
He is often given a middle initial of "E" or, sometimes, a middle name of "Elijah" - like on the FamilySearch tree. No source has been found to verify this middle initial/name, thus far.
Children
Generally, the children of John E. Bowling (b. abt. 1777) & Susan Sizemore (b. abt. 1784 Virginia) are agreed to be, for the most part:
Mary "Polly" Bowling - Born 1801 Kentucky, died 1875 Kentucky, married Jesse Combs Sr., born 1798 Tennessee, died 1874 Kentucky, son of General Elijah Combs & Sarah Roark
Henrietta/Hettie Bowling - Born 1805 Kentucky, married in 1816, Clay County, Kentucky, Dillion Asher II 1797 Tennessee - 1865 Kentucky (son of John)
Blevens Bowling - died young.
Ailsey Bowling - Born 1810 Kentucky, married William Mattingly Jr. b. 1794 Maryland (became Perry Co Atty)
Agnes Bowling - Born 1812 Kentucky, married 1827, Perry County, Kentucky , William Muncy Jr. b. 1804 s/o Wm. M Sr. of Virginia
Mahalia Bowling - Born 1822 Kentucky married in 1837, Perry County, Kentucky, Wilkerson Sizemore b. 1817 Kentucky
He did NOT marry Nancy Joseph as some have claimed in ERROR. His Nephew John E. Bowling (1837) married Sarah Baker.
[There is no source showing a son, Blevins. Particularly since this John Bolling doesn't appear to be descended from the Blevins family. There is also ample evidence of a son, Stokely, and (possibly) a son, John.]

Bolling-764 and Bowling-163 appear to represent the same person because: Polly Green was the wife of Jesse Boling in 1777. The only other Joh as a son of Jesse is John Pennington Boling whose mother was Elizabeth Pennington. John E is John Elijah named after his grandfather. These two are the same for Jesse being the father. The other John could be a different branch of this family. Please allow this merge and research John S more.
I searched the initial page that opened for all of the sources listed & found no support for Bowling as his last name. The Find A Grave memorial is for his daughter, showing her tombstone with Bowling but the writeup calling him Bolling. http://bullockgenealogy.net/n_46.html has Boling (one "l").
PPP had been added apparently to preserve "Bowling" LNAB in a merge (see this G2G discussion).
Please add information to the profile explaining why Bowling (not Bolin or Bolling) is correct. Otherwise, you'll need to find a project to support adding PPP back, as "Bowling" does not seem to be the best choice based on the information currently in the profile. (The statement about "John Bolling's surname" is not clear... To me it says his LNAB should be Bolling, although it is sometimes given as Bolin or, more frequently [than Bolin], Bowling.)
Bowling-257 and Bowling-163 are not ready to be merged because: Rev Jesse Bowling aka Bolling may have fathered two male children by the given first name of John two different wives
The problem with these links are NO SOURCES listed . Frustrating !But most points toward Rev. Jesse Bolling and Polly " Hattie" Green as being his parents .
