Biography
Mary was described as a "very agreeable young Lady with a Fortune of upward of 6,000 £ Sterling". [1]. The quote was taken from a notice in the Boston Gazette of 9 April 1739, announcing the marriage of Mary Bowles, daughter of James Bowles, Esq. "deceased some years since" to William Armistead.
