Biography

Francesca Birtone is born and baptized on 1 January 1837. She is the daughter of Antonio Birtone and Vittoria Castro. Her godparents are Giovanni and Biagia Marino, son and mother. (The godfather's last name is not given.)

Francesca marries Pietro Vaccaro, son of the late Giuseppe and Antonina Jannazzo, on 7 March 1859. This record notes that an impediment of consanguinity has been detected and a dispensation granted. They are first cousins, once removed.

Francesca and Pietro have at least have at least five children: Antonina (1864), Paolo (c. 1868), Vittoria (c. 1870), Michelangelo (c. 1873), Domenica (c. 1886).

Vittoria is born around 1870, based on her reported age at marriage.

I estimate Domenica is 20 years old (c. 1886) when she marries.

Vittoria marries Antonino Rizzotto on 7 October 1893.^[1] Antonino is a borgese, age 29 (b. 1864). Vittoria is 23 (b. 1870). Their parents are all still living.^[2]

Paolo marries Maria Felicia Provenzano on 11 February 1901 in Corleone.^[3]

Domenica marries Calogero Streva on 11 June 1906. Pietro has died by this time.
