Biography

James was born in 1882. He was the son of Hardy Bass and Eleanor Jarrett.

James married Irene Long on 16 Jan 1901 in Bibb County, Georgia.[1]In 1910, James and wife Irene were living in Macon, Bibb, Georgia.[2]

James registered for the WWI draft in 1918 in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. He was working as a salesman and married at the time. He listed his wife, Irene Bass, as his nearest relative. He signed his name as James Milton Bass.[3]

In 1920, James and Irene were living in Macon, Bibb, Georgia.[4] The household included:

  • James M Bass Head Male 36 Georgia
  • Irene Bass Wife Female 29 Florida
  • James M Bass Son Male 9 Georgia
  • Mary Long Mother-in-law Female 66 North Carolina

James passed away in 1925 from "schirosis of the liver." His name was listed as James Milton Bass. He was married at the time of death. His parents were listed as W H Bass and Elizabeth Jarrett. His wife was the informant.[5] Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. His grave marker spelled his middle name as Melton.[6]
