Dorothy Barker was born on October 21, 1827, in Robeson, North Carolina, United States, daughter of James A Barker (~1782–1856) and Ailey Catherine Musselwhite (1795–1881). [1]
Dorothy married Henry Taylor Powers (born on September 14, 1831; son of Ralph Regan Powers and Mary Polly (McNatt) Powers) on May 6, 1857, in Robeson, North Carolina, United States. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
Their children were:
Dorothy died on July 23, 1913, in Robeson, aged 85. She is buried in Powers Family Cemetery, Barker Ten Mile, North Carolina [7]
