He was the son of Edmund Backhouse and Juliet Mary Fox.[1]He was born on the 15th of November 1849.[1][2] He married Florence Salusbury-Trelawny, daughter of Sir John Salusbury-Trelawny, 9th Bt. and Harriet Jane Tremayne, on the 29th of November 1871.[1]At St. George Hanover Square, London, England.[3]He died on the 27th of July 1918 at the age of 68,[1]citing Death, Richmond (Yorkshire), Yorkshire, England.[4][5]
