James Marion Armistead was born in 1862, son of Thomas Jefferson Armistead and Elizabeth Parks. He married Alice N. Carpenter Dec 8, 1888. He was the father of Roy M., Mary Ellen, Metta Alice, Charles Richard, Ollie Leatha and Oddist. James also married Sarah E. Park on June 18, 1922, and Eliza Armistead nee Anderson on Sept. 21, 1910[1]. He passed away in 1939, and was buried at Stanton Cemetery, Stanton, Franklin County, Missouri.[2]
