May Elizabeth Murden (age 25), resident of 55 Price Street and daughter of Joseph Murden (FamilySearch Person: G6FR-8B9), married James Prentice Anderson (age 23), son of Andrew William Anderson, on 15 June 1914 in St Mary Bishophill Junior, York, Yorkshire, England.^[2] May E Murden's marriage to James P Anderson was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1914 in the York district.^[3]

During WW1, Jim was a regular in the Royal Scots Greys. His siblings Duncan and Alex were in the Lothians and Border Yeomanry (RMQS & farrier sergeant respectively), Andy was an instrument tech in the RNAS (joined in the same trade later by Jim after he recovered from wounds) and youngest brother Ben Forbes enlisted underage in a New Army Battalion of the Royal Scots and was badly wounded when that battalion was slaughtered on the first day of the Somme (after recovery, Ben also reenlisted as a tech in the RNAS).

James's death (age 66) was registered in 1956 in the Glencoe and Ballachulish district.^[4]
