Who is Parents of William or W. H. McDonald, born about 1835, father of William Hubbard McDonald, born 1865,

Question

I have had a 4yr block wall on my 4th GGF and his wife.

His name is William or W.H McDonald, born about 1835, possibly in South Carolina or Tennessee?

He was married to a Cornelia Preston born about 1837 in Tennessee.

They produced my 3x GGfather William Hubbard McDonald, JR born in 1865 in Tennessee m. Francis Elizabeth Vickers

They produced my 2xGGfather Joseph Napoleon McDonald, born in Manila, Mississipi, Arkansas.

I am a DAR member and am beginning to wonder if they have disappeared due to the civil war?? I have found only 1 document in 4 years that shows them as parents to William Hubbard McDonald in his Death certificate of 1941 in Paris, Henry county, tn.

It would help if you edited your question and correct the dates. You have William born 1935 ?1835 married in 1837? he would have been aged 2. 

You also have his son born 1854 and 1865.  I am lost!!!
