How can I adjust a Military Recognition insert if I don't know the years?

I'd like to add the Veterans Recognition template for my uncle (USN, ret.) just as I did on my dad's profile.  Problem is I don't know his years of service.  He did retire after 20 years.  Can y'all share what tweaks are needed in the template?  He's Blevins-738.  I know tweaks can do some things 'cause I did that a bit on Daddy (Blevins-708).  I tried on Uncle Roy's but couldn't get what was exactly needed to note he retired after 20 years having attained rank of CPO and served in WW II and Korea and served on subs.

Thanks in advance for helping!

Hi Elizabeth,

Glad to see you are using the templates.  You will be an expert soon I am sure.

If you know about when he served, you could enter, "about 19xx" in the date fields or enter "unknown".

You can read more about templates here:

What would you like it to say?
