Do I need to add banners to profiles if i can't find BMD information [closed]

Hi all

I have started my One Place study on Kirkby, Lancashire and have inputed onto my free space page all the people named on the 1841 census to the page.  I am now starting to raise the profiles for these people and then try to follow them through the rest of the census years. (phew)

Anyhoo I have raised the first profile based on the census information which has given me an estimated birth date based on the 1841/1851 information. 1841 said 1801 1851 said 1799 (which is what I have gone with and added an estimated date banner to the profile.

What I want to know is do I need to add banners stating B M D information needed if the only solid information I can find on this profile is from the census.

That "Estimated Date" banner on the linked profile is intended for dates that are rough guesstimates (for example, when the only date information you have is a date of marriage). Since you have an age from the 1851 census record, you can estimate his birth date within a year or two, so you don't need that banner.

Just tick the "about" in the data field and everyone knows it is not set in stone.  You might add the category of Needs Birth Record for whatever location . . . some of us spend evenings looking for them when too tired to write coherently. :)
