My great-aunt, Lulu M. Kelsey (3 July 1918 - 5 February 2002) served in the Civil Air Patrol during World War II. Family lore is that she test piloted planes before they were sent into battle. She did participate in the Michigan Girls' Air Day in 1937 as I have a copy of a newspaper article with her in it dated 11 October 1937.... I am assuming from a Detroit newspaper. I have a couple other article clippings from around that time but can't read the words under the pictures. Wanting to find info on her service in the CAP.
