Where in Bavaria is Conghan, ConCrau

Question

I am looking for any info on my great grandfather, Schmidt-11229. On his images is his service record in the British German legion of 1855. It states his town of origin as Conghan in ConCrau, Bavaria. Can any German family member please help me in where it is?

In other records his next of Kin is stated as his sister Margarette. He must have been born in 1826. Would love some more info on him. He was the first Schmidt of our family in South Africa.

I think that the parish and the town are the same but the "B" in Bavaria is obscuring the name of the parish.

I wonder if it could be a misspelling of Konken which was in Bavaria at that time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konken

Thank you Samantha, this might be a very good answer! I will look deeper into it. Anybody know anything about Schmidt families in Konken, Bavaria in 1825?
