Advice before editing this pre-1700 Herzog profile?

Question

Eva Marie Herzog - 669, married to Hans Jakob Balluff -32, was born in 1690. Married in 1710. Sources are excerpts from a family book no longer in print. All Balluffs are related and there should be others on here that may have some of the info required. I am currently searching for photos of written docs at ancestry. But they will all be in Germany. so I don't know what I am supposed to do. Balluff-21

Hi Emm and thanks for helping build our WikiTree.

I see there is little if any current sourcing for the profile that meets pre-1700 guidelines so anything you can add that comes from a primary source will help further document the person.

Ancestry records have at least some minimal translation to aid with indexing but it can be hard to spot indexing errors in their German records for people like me who are not fluent in German. If you find an image in German, you can post the link in g2g and someone should help you with a translation. You can try Google translate but what you get back will be an approximation and not take the period German into consideration...but it may help.

Thank you, T Stanton. I did just the other day find the book from which info on the Balluffs is coming. It is an English translation of the book, Die Familie Balluff, written in 1930 by Karl Ziegler.

It is not a stand alone book but it is translated into English and contained, in full, in the back of another book that I purchased at Amazon.

I will post it on the Balluff G2G and also at the profiles of my early Balluffs where I will use it to reference the data because it has the publishing details and such. It is not a primary source per se but contains a lot of detail on the family, dates of births, deaths and marriages etc. Hopefully it will do for now. MK
