He was my 3x great grandfather who migrated to Australia in 1842 with his family.

His wife, Mary Gordon, died shortly after; b. Soufriere, Santa Lucia ~1805.

His mother, Ann Walcott Pile, has many traceable ancestors.

His father was Dr Thomas Clarke b. 1763, in Barbados.

His grandfather was William Clarke b. 1732 in Barbados, and who married Mary Boucher b. 1734 in Barbados.

I have no line beyond the grandfather, William Clarke.

I am wondering if there are connections with him and the Clarke families who traded between the American colonies and Barbados, and also with a William Clarke an early governor of Barbados.

In Barbados Thomas Clarke the younger was a customs official.
