François Amable Champoux (1763 - 1837) Born 30 May 1763 in Bécancour, Province de Québec. Died 27 Apr 1837 in Saint-Grégoire-le-Grand, Nicolet, Bas-Canada.  What sticker is best to apply? French roots or Québécois {{Canada_Nouvelle-France|lang=fr}? Or both? He doesn’t qualify for project protection but would like to build upon his profile as the French spellings of last name seem to show origin to Champoux dit Semper, St. Pair and Simpier. I would like to categorize him properly and add him to any projects that fit his criteria. Also the same with his son I would like to do the same for. Thank you wikitree family.

Neither one, they don't apply.  He is born after Québécois project time.  He is born here, French Roots sticker would apply more to people born in France.
