Rebecca, Welcome to WikiTree.

Do you know where Harry was born, details about his spouse, where he died, things like that? Getting some details about him is a good place to start. We can help if you give us a little more.

Getting an actual DNA match takes a little more work, and there are lots of folks here who will help you with that part.

I am glad you came to G2G, there is usually someone to help you here.

Thank you, I will ask my father if any of his brothers children are willing to take the test.

As long as you can establish the associated "paper trail", you can confirm to your grandfather by finding a sufficiently close relative of his within the matches you already have, too. Loosely speaking, you can use anybody out to his first cousins, or their descendants down to your generation.

Ancestry.com has your grandfather's birth certificate indicates that he was born in Connellsville, IN and his parents were Harry E Henry (b FL) and Maude May Schowalter (b IA), although the correct spelling appears to be "Showalter". He died in FL. See his findagrave memorial for dates: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/178938367

The 1920 census shows two much older sisters. Both could possibly be half-sisters or step-sisters. This might be the findagrave memorial for Harry Sr's mom: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/92458241/sarah-frances-henry

Mostly, I'd check out whether you have matches who show trees with the Henry family in Connellsvile, IN.

Hi, Rebecca.

Notice that we already have two other profiles for a Harry Henry who might be your grandfather: Henry-83 and Henry-5780. Although neither has much information, they appear to be the same person and should be merged, along with Henry-10496, the profile you created two days ago, if they all turn out to be the same person.

Henry-83 was born 1919 in Ohio and died 1980. His father was Frank but his mother's maiden name was McClaskie (very similar to mclowsky). There is a possible DNA connection listed, so if you have tested at Ancestry you could look for a match to her.
