Wikitree doesn't collect or store any actual DNA data, so the only way to do a comparison is on a 3rd party site like Gedmatch.  You can see other Wikitreers who would be expected to share DNA with your common ancestors (and what DNA test(s) they have taken) on those profiles as "DNA connections" and then compare your DNA with theirs on another site.

Peter,

As written by Kathie you will need to look at those profiles that appear as DNA connections.  What this means is that you need to extend your family tree back to at least great-grandparents.  If you happen to have a first cousin on your mother's side that has taken a DNA test and is on Wikitree you will only see a connection if both of you are connected to your common grandparents.

While I see that you have your test at Gedmatch, there seems to be an issue with it.  Perhaps you have privacy settings that make it  impossible for others to see. I was going to suggest that you look at the One-To_Many - Full Version at Gedmatch - that will give you a list of all of your matches that are also on Wikitree. - the match list will show those with gedcoms as well as those of Wikitree.  If there are close connections those are a good place to start.  Full Version does require tier one, so you may wish to explore other reports at Gedmatch first.

Peter,

Ancestry will notify you if your DNA matches other Ancestry DNA members. You can use that information to confirm your relationship to your relatives on WikiTree.

If you upload your raw DNA to GedMatch or other testing sites you may find matches there as well.

When you find matches, try the DNA Confirmation Citation Maker to create the Source citation needed to mark a parent as "confirmed with DNA".

Also, since you are probably new to DNA on WikiTree, check out the "How to Get Started" section of the DNA Help.

Here is how to see your DNA matching relatives in WikiTree:

Find your autosomal DNA matches in WikiTree:

Find your X chromosome matches in WikiTree:

In many instances they just need to add more of their ancestors. Help them do that.  You share some ancestry and hopefully you can connect those shared relatives.  However it is difficult to find the shared ancestry if there is a Non-Paternity Event (NPE) several generations ago.

What I do is bring the name with its page and check for a relationship by entering the name » - number « assigned and check « connection.

There I can find other links if not direct lineage.

Download a copy of your DNA Raw Data to your computer, Youtube shows how this is done.

From your computer upload a copy to www.gedmatch.com

When this is working do a One to many test, it will display your cousins.
