Through family genealogies and various websites I know that I have Spanish and Portuguese lineage. The first 10 Kings of Portugal and numerous of their royal relatives throughout Iberia and France are in the family tree.
This past summer of 2018 I toured the royal burial sites of several of my antepassados in Mosteiros, Catedrais and Igrejas from Lisboa to Alcobaça to Braga, then from Santiago de Compostela to León to Pamplona. I am planning a longer and more detailed trip this year or next.
I am fluent in speaking, reading and writing in both Portuguese and Spanish. It's exciting to learn of my ancestors. On my mother's lineage two sides were the conquistadores and political founders of Texas and San Antonio through Spain and the Canary Islands. On my father's lineage on several sides they also were the conquistadores, colonizers, generals and governors of Nueva España, Mexico and Texas. Their lineage goes to the royal families of Portugal (Afonsos, etc) and Spain (Galicia, León, Castille, Navarre, Aragón, Catalonia, La Mancha).
I love research and research at the various research centers and the various research genealogies of several Texas-Mexico genealogists.
