Advice before adding spouse of this pre-1700 Putnam profile?

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

I wanted to add the children of John Putnam (1691-1764) and Rachel Buxton (1688-?). John married Rachel 3/16/1717 Salem, he married 2nd Lydia. There is a page for John married to Lydia and a page for Rachel married to John. Somehow they need to be combined.

I've proposed a merge between the two John's. You will get an email so accept the merge and follow the prompts etc. Then the two John's will be together.
