Javascript enabled on our computer, yet not recognized by WikiTree, what's needed to send private messages?

Have tried several times but system says javascript not enabled, after asking for 1st 3 letters of alphabet with another box for post script, which I do not know what to put in there.  Are we the only ones with this problem?

Hi! Java is not needed for WikiTree at all. I have had several similar problems using Internet Explorer. I have changed to Google Chrome and now everything is running smoothly.

Thanks...  Chrome seems to work better overall, sends messages on Wikitree with no problem. In fact, I now use it more than IE.

Guess I had a stubborn idea that IE was the only game in town.  To be fair to IE... I should try to delete and reinstall, but from what I have read, even that sounds somewhat difficult.

Hi J.,

I'm not sure what's going on, but I know it's something related to one of our anti-spam devices. (We need to have so many anti-spam techniques it's ridiculous. What a waste of everyone's time.)

The postscript you're seeing is what's called a "honey pot." It should be hidded Javascript so that people don't see it. The spam bots do see it and enter something there. If something is entered there, the message should get rejected.

If you don't enter anything in the postcript field, are you able to send the message?
