Searching for DNA evidence of Louisa Bridgeman's parents. Louisa born cir 1821 in Virginia (according to her marriage record to Newton Jasper Garrett and the 1860 census which shows her born cir 1824 in Virginia).
A lot of mystery surrounding Louisa. Folklore from some cousins states that her parents died and she was raised by her uncle and aunt but no evidence supports that so far.
At least two individuals, one on MyHeritage and one on Gedmatch who match me on chromosome #10 and on the "X" chromosome have Fleming Bridgeman as their direct ancestor born in Virginia.
My question is for those that have a Bridgeman in their family, are we related? My gedmatch number is M805123. Two possibilities for the birth father may be Francis Bridgeman who is living in 1830 in Twiggs, GA OR William Bridgeman living in 1830 in Dinwiddie, VA. Any descendants of these two who might know where Louisa might fit in?
Would love to finally figure out this mystery with the help of DNA.
