I am currently looking for help trying to track an family member of mine born in 1841, he was Scottish and lived in Jamaica. I have found some records on him but cannot find anything past his father. John Gordon Chisholm 1841-1914 His Father Was John Robert Chisholm.

Have you looked on FamilySearch.org?

The next step would then be Scotland's People at www.scotlandspeople.co.uk ($$). And look in Cyndislist.com for genealogical links for Scotland.

I have looked on scotlandspeople and they are quite expensive don't you think? The farthest I've been able to go is my GGG Grandad, but thanks for the suggestion.
Hi,

Sorry I stumbled on this accidently just now. One of my Chisholm people settled in Jamaica, just can remember who it was. Leave it with me and I will look back in my ancestry and see if I can track him down. There was a lot of Chisholm migration to the Americas, Australia and New Zealand around that time, with a purging of the clans, but I haven't heard of many heading to Jamaica. Maybe you have already found them by now :)
