Hi All,
I have a Patrick Kenny 1861 married to a Margaret Byrne 1860. Maybe near or around Castlekevin? Or moved there for the census.
When I was young I went up to live in Wicklow for a while a year maybe, and my Great Uncle Jim Kenny, one of their kids,1897,was still alive. He used to sit me on his knee and teach me how to eat an orange with a spoon no less!
Anyway I never met any Byrnes but they seem to be prominent. I would like to know more about them or the older Kennys. Here is my information.
Patrick and Margaret had a lot of kids.
Mary Kenny (Married a Hetherington. The story goes the Byrne’s hung one of these in the great forest as they were Gombeens or rent collectors. Truth?) 1887 1955
