In this Colchester, Chittenden, Vermont town list, General Ira Allen leads the list. Could someone please add this image to his profile.

Also, my ancestor David Hill was in Colchester at this time, responding to the Allen brothers' interest in developing this area. David Hill was working in lumbering, as well as serving in various town development roles. Could someone please check the history of this community to see what the origins of David Hill might be. Where had he resided previously? Is there any way to trace his relationship with the Allen brothers?

Ichabod Brownell is the father of Betsey Brownell, who was married to David Hill. Ichabod Brownell built the old stone "tavern" that served as a hotel, as well as the family home. The Brownell families (Ichabod and Aaron) were previously residing in Canaan, Litchfield County, Connecticut. See
