A merge has been completed. The profile had some duplication, and probably could use some more clean-up (and definitely needs to be detached from the present Hatcher father, as her father is reportedly Edward...)
This would be considered definitive on Jane's origins, to my mind... See also the author's note on the Jefferson linkage.
... [Abell Gower]] married Jane, daughter of Edward Hatcher of Henrico county, and widow of _____ Branch of the same county. He seems to have but one child, a daughter Tabitha. His will was dated 25 Dec 1688, and proved in Henrico Jun 1689. He gave his wife Jane the plantation... with reversion to his daughter Tabitha, and if she died without issue, to Priscilla and Obedience Branch...
The will of Mrs Jane Gower was proved in Henrico in Oct 1699. She gave lands to her grandson Wm Cox and daughter Mary Cox; land she lived on called Great Stone, to her granddaughters Obedience Turpin and Priscilla Wilkinson; personal property to grandson Wm Farrar, granddaughter Mary Womack, Priscilla Farrar, John Spike, Wm Womack, her daughter Mary Cox, granddaughter Priscilla Farrar (a silver porringer), sister Hatcher (a damask gown and petticoat), and grandchildren Abell and William Farrar and Judith Womack. Rest of estate to Mrs. Mary Cox. Through a child of her first marriage, Mrs Jane Gower was an ancestress of Thomas Jefferson.]
The profile can be amended accordingly that her father was Edward Hatcher, and that she had a "sister Hatcher" as is described in this reputable source.
