need some expertise - pre-USA Virginia: Branch/Farmer/Bass(e)

could Branch be her maiden name? No sources, but [[Branch-521]] has parents attached.

A question came to me about the proposed merge:

Comparing Unknown-224352 (L) and Branch-521 (R) Someone has proposed a merge but Unknown224352 is protected? In my ancestry account I show Unknown224352 as Hester formerly Bass Farmer. Parents William Basse 1618–1696 and SARAH BATTON 1620–1695 Need help with this. Branch-521 is also shown as marrying Henry Farmer but as previously being married to someone William Bass. I think my version is right but ... I am told that this profile is part of a project and I don't know how to find out what project.

(It came to me as leader of the Virginia Project, but the project box on the profile that's protected is Southern Colonies)

Thanks for any help!

You may want to search for William Bass.

This extract is supposed to be a quote from a book DESCENDENTS OF THOMAS FARMER

His second wife was Hester Bass, whom he married in 1696, the widow of his neighbor, William Bass. (Henrico Orphans court 1677 - 1739 p. 39)

For clues only

William Basse,

son of Nathaniel Basse and Mary Jordan,

was born 25 Dec 1618 in England.

He married Sarah Batten on 20 Sep 1641 in Virginia

only one child is known.  the issue:

1. William Bass - 18 Feb 1648

1. William Bass married Hester (?)

and at least four children are known.

William only listed his wife Hester and daughter Elizabeth in his will;

however records of the Orphans Court (Henrico Co., VA) 1 Oct 1701

listed Elizabeth as "one of the orphans of Wm. Bass."

After William's death Hester Bass married Henry Farmer ca. 1696.

William died in 1695 in Henrico Co., VA.

the issue:

1. William Bass

2. Thomas Bass

3. Elizabeth Bass

4. Anne Bass

Thanks Eddie! & I also noticed that Shirley Dalton covered this a couple of years ago (love how G2G lists related questions!)
