Unresponsive manager question

Question

Adding sources to some orphaned gedcom profiles is impossible because
of an unresponsive manager.  Requests have gone unanswered to
him.  None of the requests have been asking for trusted listings, I just
want access to add sources to profiles that should be open because of age.  My question is "If I ask for bulk opening of his profiles in this gedcom,
how would the living profiles be handled?"  At 81 I do not feel I need to take on profiles that will be orphaned again is a few short years.  He as not been active in three plus years.

Beulah, if the profiles should be open because of age then you should file an open profile request.  That is much easier and faster than the unresponsive manager process.  Once the profiles are open, you can edit them freely without any need to adopt them - the current manager will still remain manager.

I was in hopes a bulk opening would do it without finding them one at a time.  I guess that isn't going to work.  Eddie got one opened for me and
I was just wondering about the 700 or 800 he has that are kind of locked up.  I'll take it one as a time then as needed.  More work for Paul.  Thanks.

All you need to do is identify all the possible profiles then do an open profile request on one person in the group and mention in the request that you would like the others opened as well.

Paul is usually good at catching the related profiles that should be opened but any help you can do to identify the needed profiles can only help.

It isn't a bulk opening of every profile from the Gedcom but you can get multiple profiles opened.

I think asking for descendants of, or ancestors of would open up most of them.
