Unresponsive profile manager

I've been asking for help since August with an unresponsive profile manager. He has almost my entire paternal line tied up so that I'm stymied with how to proceed. Back then I used multiple avenues to contact the person including public messages, private messages, messages through mutual family members, messages on Facebook. I'm fairly certain that the person in question is deceased.

Whoever initially helped me unblocked a few of the profiles, but I need them ALL unblocked; otherwise I'm forced to make duplicate profiles or do my research elsewhere.

I removed the ID of the person you have been hoping to contact, in keeping with WikiTree policy against mentioning individual members in this fashion. Please use the Unresponsive Profile Manager processes that Kevin and Gaile pointed out.

I hope this will help.

Thank you. I did this in August, September, and October. A few of the profiles were opened, but 80% of them stayed closed. They have all bee long deceased, but Mr. Biggs for whatever reason made them all private rather than open.

This has been frustrating me for months--enough so that I'm ready to take my toys and go home and quit using this platform.

How can someone who hasn't been active in years (and is likely deceased) keep all of his work closed?

I guess I'll have to go through the entire process with the 100 or so ancestors that he has blocked.
When you fill out the unresponsive manager form you can ask that all the manager’s profiles in that line be opened.
You don't have to submit a form for every single profile (in fact, I think they prefer you not to).  Just make sure you ask for *ancestors and descendants* on the form, not just for the one profile.

Go to the Family Tree & Tools tab for William Biggs and scroll right down.  There you will find the link to the Unresponsive Profile Manager form.  Make sure when you submit it that you ask for *ancestors of this profile* to be opened as well.

It isn't William's profile that needs to be opened.  As a member, even a seemingly inactive one, that is not an option unless he is provably deceased.
What is needed is the UPM form for one of the profiles managed by William - which I have posted to the merge 3-1 thread.

Rebecca, as I understand your question, it is about many private profiles managed by this person.  When you file an unresponsive profile manager request, if the manager is declared unresponsive then open and public profiles managed by that person will be orphaned, and can then be adopted by any member.  The problem you're having is that, generally, in such a case, private profiles are deleted unless there is a family member of those profiles interested in becoming manager.

Since you have already been through the unresponsive profile manager process, now you need to write to info @ wikitree.com (without the spaces) and tell them that you want to manage these profiles.

At this point, I can either adopt the ones I'm interested in OR they can disappear entirely and I'll recreate them. Either way is preferable to what I'm dealing with now.

I asked on a private family Facebook page if he's still alive and no one knows him! I popped him into a tree on Ancestry to see if I can figure out who he is and whether or not he's still among the living.
