Altering LNAB

Is it possible to alter or correct LNAB? I'm working on the Bird/Byrd tree, I have one published source (that I know of), and I want to have the last name hopefully match the LNAB. Several are just wrong, while others need to be tweaked.

Hi Robert,

If the correct name exists on another profile you plan on merging into, that is the easiest way to correct the LNAB-just merge into it and continue to do so, making sure you choose the profile with the lowest number and correct spelling. If not, once a profile manager, it can be changed by going in to edit the profile and clicking on edit next to the LNAB. Make sure to add sources as to why that is the correct name. If the profile is project protected, I would post a comment on the page and here on G2G so discussion can be made on which name is correct-often others who are interested in the name will have other resources available to help support or refute a name.

Also, include the other spelling in the Other Last Names so more duplicates are not created.
And remember that wikitree policy and practice is to use the last name used by the person as supported by records from their lifetime.  This can change from person to person even in the same family.
