Johann Jacob Alspach duplicate profiles . . . do they need to be merged?

I just added Johann Jacob Alspach, birth 1748 in Berks County, PA to my family tree . . . there is another profile with his name and correct spousal information ... do these profiles need to be merged? thank youI
