External files

Is there a way of finding my external files that got put in because I uploaded my family tree maker tree.  I've looked on the Data Doctors list under 835, but when I run a find for my name, nothing comes up.  I looked at my suggestions list and they don't come up there either.  I know they are there, because I've run across them.  Help!

All of the profiles you created are on your watchlist (unless you've resigned from some Trusted Lists). See https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:WatchedList for your watchlist -- that link is also available under the My WikiTree tab.

External files normally don't get uploaded as part of GEDCOM imports, but file names may appear on the profiles. If external file names were edited away, the information is still accessible from the Changes screen for the profile.

I just want to find the ones that got up-loaded because of me, so I can either delete the information or change it in a usable source.  The watch list gives me all my profiles, but I would like to find just the ones with the external files, without going one by one through them.
If you look at your Contributions list and find the date when you uploaded the gedcom, your contributions will show each person added.  You'll see them all with very close timestamps, that will indicate they were part of a gedcom.
Gaile's advice is right on target! Thanks, Gaile.

Google is only partial help here, as well. You can try entering this, exactly as shown--including quotation marks--in the Google search field:

"/debralove/Documents/" site:wikitree.com

That will find almost 60 profiles, but there are more. This has come up before, and I personally don't know of any good way to find them unless Aleš does some database magic.

The issue with Google is that it's too current and friendly. If you enter any searches that include a hashtag # or at-symbol @ Google assumes you're searching for for a social media reference. And guess what the GEDCOM format is to point to external files? You guessed it; GEDCOM refers to them all, collectively, as media files and puts them in a person's record like this: @M1234@ where "1234" is the unique designator of a particular file. So that's what you really want to find: "@M*@" ...but you can't do it with Google. At least this will locate 58 profiles for cleaning.
