Merger after one month

Good afternoon all,

It's me again :).  I've been working on my grandmother's paternal side Calvert's from Great Harwood, Lancashire, England for the last 18 years and now placing their profiles on wiki tree. I've come to my 10th great grand-grandfather Governor Cecil Calvert, 2nd Lord Baltimore, Proprietor of Maryland and have found a duplicate.  On the 17 of Dec 2017  i sent  Kim Myers the profile manager a private message about a merge, its been over a month now and I have not heard anything from her. How can i merge my profile into hers?

This is the information i have:

   Kim Myers-Myers-2401; Cecilius Calvert (1605 - 1675), Calvert-91

My information: Cecilius Calvert (1605 - 1675), Calvert-2183

Can I merge these profiles or do I have to have someone do it for me because of teh length of time?

Also, i have set up a folder on my desktop so that I can put answers and how to do things in there.  Am starting to go thru the study guide now.

You can request a merge but I went ahead and did it for you.  You should get a message to accept it and then we have to wait for the other manager to respond.  If they don't respond within a month (about), then you can complete the merge without their approval.

 

Well I take this answer back.  I tried to request a merge but the request experienced a failure two times in a row so something within Wikitree is getting in the way - possibly?

Those problems were probably temporary. There was some work being done on the system yesterday; I think that merge requests were one of the things affected for a while.

Hi Deborah,

I looked at both profiles. There is so much work there.  Both biographies are large.  Can you imagine merging all that text in one...

You created your profile recently while the other one has been on WT since 2011.  You should contact the profile managers to see how you can do the merge before any request for merging.

Well... this is what I would do.

After a better look at both profiles I realized that the 2 biographies are in fact copies from Wikipedia made with Copy/Paste. so you should read this help page before doing anyother move...
