A first for me

Good ole' Ruby Pendergrass, [[Pendergrass-118]].  She had many hubbies.

For the first time ever, in my experience, I was able, through the marriage record of her marriage to William Mullens, to not only get the names of his mother and father, but his former wife.  I also was able to find out, at least for sure, that one of her other husbands is valid.  :)  So, think I should refrain from the glee I feel in linking them ALL together on that marriage document.

No?  Gonna anyway.  It is PROOF! :)  LOL

Dorothy, I used the wrong profile number.  LOL I used my mom's.  This would NOT please her.  Heheheh

Her eyes would pop out but then she would recover and have a good laugh!!

PS: Thanks for Best Answer Betty!!

You are welcome for Best Answer, and right about my mom. :)  Didn't realize I did that until I saw your reply with "Kathy".  LOL  My eyes popped a little too!

Wow, Ruth is something.  I found ANOTHER marriage certificate.  (She is in my family tree, with about 5 hubbies, little info tho, until now)  This marriage record is when she is age 25, she is divorced and on the certificate she states she has already been married twice.  She divorced the month before the record I just found.  Provided info too.  I had no idea a marriage cert could provide so much info if have you have been divorced.  WOW!
Ruth sounds a bit like my grandmother, she was married four times, maybe five, still searching!!! I have always wondered why my cousins last names were different when I was a child. They didn't talk about one's married life very much back in the day. Interestingly I found out my own father had another family (he was married twice) by doing WikiTree and researching old census reports. It is truly amazing how you can learn about your family and connect to so many!!!
It surprises me more, Dorothy, that she married that often back then. I remember as a child, in the 60's, people still talking about "divorcees" in whispers.  (I cannot type the word divorce' right, do not know how to use my keyboard for that) TV shows where a person would hold up their hand when whispering to someone about another person who had been divorced.  Especially women.  It was implied they were "easy" if divorced.

I think I read her marriage record wrong too.  Having never come across a marriage certificate for someone who was divorced.  It asks how many marriages she had, she states three.  So that would mean this was her 4th marriage, right?  The three would not include him.  WOOWOWOWWO
Dorothy...

Ruby and William divorced in 1970.

Guess what I found after I found the divorce source?

They married again. 6 months later.  Don't even know how to do that on the profile as I thought they divorced, so I ended the marriage.  Bleh, bleh, bleh.

I added notes tho.

I am not making this up. LOL
