Self introduction to group

Hi everyone,

Happy to be here. I am new and know absolutely nothing yet lol. So I will be slowly integrating and building my family tree.  Once I get familiar with all the community rules and customs I will be happy to contribute to projects. Specifically, my lineages are both from Mexico with my immediate family being first generation immigrants. The last names associated with my family are Rodriguez, Diaz, Flores, Perez (Jalisco) and Segura, Servín, Coria, Rangel, Urbina (Michoacán). So, I hope to add value to the research and   Documentation of the Mexico branches. Thank you for reading this intro!

Hello S,

I'm doing some research in the Jalisco area. I found several records that may be of interest to you.

On your Rodríguez line you added profiles up to your great grandfather José Santiago Rodríguez married to Lucía Flores, the parents of your grandfather Gabriel.

  • Christening record of your grandfather Gabriel

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N573-J72

There is a link in the record to the image of the original document. Parents and grandparents of Gabriel are listed. The record is the 2nd. one in the left hand side page. The godparents were the paternal grandparents.

  • Marriage record of José Santiago and Lucía

Shortly after José Santiago was born in Ixtlahuacán del Río on 1859 his parents José María and Cecilia were living in Zapopan as can be seen in the record of christening of their son Merced on 1861

 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N57S-LYW

The christening records of José Santiago and Merced list the same parentes and grandparents. They were brothers. That is why the record of marriage of José Santiago and Lucia states that Santiago was born in ("originario de ") Zapopan.

The parents of José María were Félix Rodríguez and Serapia Campos or Ocampo. They had two other children born in Zapopan:

María Paula, born on 1847

And José Andrés, born on 1852

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QKZZ-JJ51

The parents of Félix Rodríguez were Pablo Rodríguez and Ramona Segoviano (The paternal grandparents in both of the christening records).

The parents of Pablo Rodríguez were Miguel Rodríguez and Manuela Jiménez (The paternal grandparents in the christening record).

Miguel Rodríguez widowed and remarried on 1818 according to the following record:

The parents of Miguel Rodríguez were Manuel Rodríguez and María Josefa Núñez, they are listed on both of the marriage records.

I hope this information may help in your search.

Ruben,

Thank you so much for the information you've provided here that has indeed helped me very much.  I have a gedcom that I am attempting to integrate however I have been slowly doing so as I am able to provide sources and your research and notes have helped me tremendously.  I will update my tree with these ancestors soon.  I am in Santa Barbara, CA and have voluntarily evactuated the area due to the recent hazardous air as a result of the fires nearby.  But I will be back to Wiki as soon as possible and I may have more information on the wives of my rodriguez paternal line that I can also confirm and integrate.  Thank you again!
You're welcome S.

I hope you can return to your home soon.

Welcome to wikitree!  There are many helpful people here and the "help" resources on the drop-down menu are great.  I have only been a member for a year and I am still learning but would be happy to help if I can.
