Where can I find birth and marriage records? For relatives in Scotland & Quebec. What would be the best sites to look at free of charge?

The most complete source of records for Scotland is https://Scotlandspeople.gov.uk.

You can search the index for free, but need to buy credits to view the images of the records.

There may be some specific to those two countries but Family search.com
is free and easy to use for general places.  It provides easy copy and paste
sources.  Use the rootsearch feature on the profiles.
