Date is not accepted

Question

I have a problem with the birth date of my nephew who passed away. He was born on 29 Feb 1958 and if I fill in this date in the edit mode it is accepted and I can save it. But if I look in the profiel the date is gone. It looks like the software doesn't recognize that this is a leap year. What is your advice?

Hi Margaret, The date is showing as born in the 1960's because of the privacy setting you have chosen for his profile. Only you as the profile manager can view his complete profile and dates etc. All other WikiTree members can only see his public profile view. At top of Frederik Beers profile click the tab that says public view and then click private view to compare what is seen by other members. Click the privacy tab to see the privacy settings and what each does. Norbert is correct February 1958 has only 28 days in the month.

You are right off course. I never thought of the privacy settings. But I'm glad I have the answer. The only thing now is that I have to find out if the year is wrong or the date is wrong. Thanks for your quick reply

1956 and 1960 were leap years, 1958 wasn't.

Thanks for your quick and accurate answer. My mom is now checking the year of his birth. So there's indeed something wrong ;-)
