Introduction!

Hello!  I am new to WikiTree, but not to Genealogical Research.  I've been working on my tree for at least 10 years now.  I'm including both my family and my son's father's family, so I have a lot of balls up in the air.  I've taken a little bit of a break but I am getting ramped up again!  Some of the earliest work that I did will not include useful citations, I was learning then, so if there are errors and discrepancies, I apologize!

I have DNA tests for myself and my son, and I've uploaded GEDCOM files from my Ancestry tree, though I am not sure yet how to get all of this together cohesively - that will be a great project for me when I have time off later this month!

My son's father is a Silver, the family is from Eastern Europe - Poland/Romania/Russia - and his great grandfather was adopted when (I am guessing) they were run out of the area by the Russian government.

I have a couple of brick walls that I am trying to break through - one of which is a Tiffany in New York.  Willis Norman Tiffany appeared in New York around 1815 but no real clues about where he came from.  There are some theories and a family story about him having been a pirate with his two brothers.

Another is Thomas Perry, who was born in Wales and married a Schermerhorn in NY before moving to Wisconsin.  I have no clues about his history and his daughter, Jane, married a man with the surname Thomas and had 3 daughters with him but there is no record of him anywhere that I can find yet.

Another is Patrick Carr - I believe that I found where he came from - Enniscorthy, in County Wexford, Ireland but I am not 100% sure.

One other is James Boyd - died in Ohio with his wife Nancy Elliott weeks apart in 1828.  They left their infant son Thomas Oliver Boyd.  He is somehow connected to an Archibald Elliott according to a story passed down by my gg Aunt.  Possibly came from Ireland shortly before his death.

Surnames that I am stumped on include Mott, Perry, McMillan, (NC, SC, WI) and Hickmon, McCardle, and Short (IL, IA, TN).

I am always happy to help if anyone has any questions!  My Ancestry tree member name is hollyg248.
