Unfortunately, Texas Confederate Pensions & Applications are not yet available Online. There is a query to verify if he applied, any documents related can be obtained via request & last I checked, fee basis.

Is there a WikiTree category for his service?
I'll be happy to add his service records from Fold3 and any categories.
Great!  handle it

The Texas Civil War pension applications are held at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.  They do provide an on-line search to locate the names of individuals with pension applications and the file number for the application.  No information is provided about what is in the file, you do have to order the files which is relatively easy and I've had prompt service.  Here is a link to the search site: https://www.tsl.texas.gov/apps/arc/pensions/

The Alabama Civil War records are housed in Montgomery at the Alabama Department of Archives and History.  They have a database you can search.  The database does not show the service records, those will need to ordered.  Here is a link to the search site for the Alabama records: http://archives.state.al.us/civilwar/search.cfm

You should also request a records search from the National Archives as they have Confederate service records that were captured by Union forces.

Good luck.

As mentioned before, the state of Texas has not yet put its Confederate pensions online, although some county historical/genealogical societies have done so, but only some.  That's how we found my g-granfathers pension record as it had been listed as missing for a century but showed up on a county website.

However, Ancestry.com has the Texas records available online, but you probably have to be a member.  Seaborn Hughes applied for a pension twice.  The first in 1908 was disapproved, apparently since he owned some property of value.  The second in 1911 was approved.  He was in service for 4 years, April 3,1861 to April 1865, after Lee surrendered.  He appears to have begun in Co. F of the 7th Alabama Regiment of Infantry.

Hope this helps, Good Luck

Hopefully we're correct on 53rd Partisan Rangers, but I found 3 other Seaborn Hughes enlistments, the 7th Alabama Infantry, 57th Alabama Infantry & Seaborn V. Hughes 31st Alabama Infantry. Enlistments occured in the county of residence or close proximity & almost always with a family member or relative. Let me know if I can help. Happy to help.

Nick
