How many generations for the earliest known CONFIRMED Y-DNA tested line in WikiTree?

This is a different question for the earlier one.  Now that WikiTree can associate a direct paternal line with a Y-DNA results of descendants of that line, which CONFIRMED Y-DNA tested direct paternal line in WikiTree goes back the most number of generations?  That is to say, how many generations ago did the most recent confirmed direct paternal line ancestor live (for two Y-DNA matching direct paternal line male cousins)?

I think 10 generations for descendnants of three of the four Smith brothers. Several tests are exact matches for William, Simon and Joseph Smith who came to New England in about 1635.  (Brother Christopher had no children).

Thanks Kitty, Please provide links to the profiles of the males tested and their most recent direct paternal line ancestor.  What is the testers cousin relationship to each other (e.g. 9th cousins once removed, etc.)
Excellent question, and thanks for answering Kitty!

I realize this question is from a year ago, but I only came across it today.  I thought you might be interested in knowing that my father's Y-DNA traces back to Walter ATHY http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Athy-2 , who died sometime after 1656 in Galway, Ireland.  He is my 10th great-grandfather.  This line has a quite rare haplogroup, G-F1193.

My dad is http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Athey-68 .  Whit Athey, well known and respected in in the genetic genealogy world, is my father's cousin and also a descendant of Walter.  Whit created a haplogroup predictor still in use.  He is in charge of the Athey Y-DNA project, located here:  http://www.hprg.com/athey/  My dad's ID # within the project is 8468.  His DNA is an exact match to the reconstructed Y-DNA for our immigrant ancestor, George Athy http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Athy-16 .

Those of us that share descent from this Athy/Athey line are truly fortunate to have someone such as Whit overseeing our DNA project.

Which means Walter Athy is eleven generations back from my dad and twelve generations back from my two brothers...
Hello Darlene,

Excellent! Please enter one of your brothers as your father's son and then record that line in WikiTree Tops http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:WikiTree_Tops .

Who is the most distant known Y-DNA tested Athey cousin of your father?  You can use the Y Chromosome Confirmed template to show the lines are accurate back to their most recient direct paternal lilne ancestor.

Sincerely, Peter
Peter, I'll look into doing that.  My brother has a son who also has a son, so I've added profiles for them also.  That puts it at 15 generations.

I'm not sure about the most distant known Y-DNA tested Athey cousin.  I will have to research that on the Athey DNA project.  That may take me awhile...
Hello Darlene,

Please change your brother's privacy level to "Private with Public Family Tree" in order to associate his Y-DNA results with him.  Also do the same for his son and grandson.  You can change each of their first names to 'Anonymous' if you wish.

Sincerely, Peter
Done.
Excellent! Tomorrow the Y-DNA results will be associated with their profiles.

Thanks for looking for a (the) most distant Athey paternal line cousin (with a YSearch ID) in order to make use of the Y Chromosome Confirmed template ;-)

Sincerely, Peter

OOOpps! forgot the profile numbers a year+ ago.  We believe the father of the four Smith brothers and their sister, Mary, was William Smith-2075.  We do not have traditional research documentation that this William was, in fact, their father. The four brothers and Mary are listed as William's children.

There aren't any DNA links for descendants of any of those Smith brothers on their profile pages.  Do you know who tested and then provide the DNA kit #s in order to link them?

I know all the tests, but do not have permission from the kit owners to post their results on WikiTree.

They are Group NE18 at the bottomof this page:  https://www.familytreedna.com/public/SmithConnections?iframe=ycolorized
