It appears that Mathias Kolb (Kolb-76) and descendants may be unrelated to the other Kolb/Culp families, however I can't find any Y-DNA results that might settle this question. Does anyone know if a paternal line descendant of Mathias Kolb has tested? I see no mention of Y-DNA results here at WikiTree and no one at the FTDNA Kolb-Culp Surname Project either.
As a side note the reason I'm doing this is that I get asked a lot whether I'm related to the Gettysburg Culp's (i.e. of Culp's Hill) on the paternal line, and I'd like to have an answer besides "I dunno, probably not".
