John Harvey was born in England about 1850. He married Harriet Wirt in April 1875 in New Troy, Michigan. They had one child for sure, Alva Harvey who was born in 1880 or 1881. They most likely had two more children: George and Clara Harvey were both born in Three Oaks, Berrien County, Michigan to a John and Harriet Harvey in 1877 and 1878, George died in 1878, Clara probably died in infancy as well. Sometime before 1900, Harriet left John and her son Alva to go live with her daughter from before John, in Ransom, North Dakota. John was granted a divorce in 1904 and was remarried in 1906. John died Jan 24, 1917 in Berrien Township, Michigan.
I am trying to connect John to his supposed parents. He sure seems to be the son of Robert Harvey (1881-1887) and Mary Sophia Cooke (1815-1857) of Norfolk, England. I have come in contact with descendants of two of Robert's sons online and they seem to agree. Robert Jr (1849-1905) and Henry (1854-1941) came to the US and stopped in Michigan for work for a few years before moving to Nebraska. Their brother John came with them but maybe he stayed in Michigan? (The brothers also may not have come to the US at the same time, they all list different years of immigration on censuses, in 1910 John's lists 1869 but I haven't found a record for his immigration). John's second marriage record lists his father as "Robert" and that's the only mention of a father I've been able to find, I haven't been able to find his first marriage record (online at least).
Could this be enough information to say that John is the son of Robert and Mary? Any ideas on where else I could look that might list John's parents after he came to the US?
I have compiled some photos of records here: https://imgur.com/a/kW0nL
