Doug you thank both this are wife's of the Henry Cope I'm working on? I already have his first wife this would be second and third,  and the marriage for 1833 information Frank Gill shared up top is a lady with the last name Hyatt ,that would make 4 marriage's , they most have been more then one Henry Cope in N.C that moved to Missouri

If I had information on another Henry Cope in the area I may can track his father down. Thanks for helping
I would have to look into it in more depth in order to sort it out Donnie. There probably was more than 1 Henry Cope.

November 24, 1831 to a Mary Decker is one wife but. 1870 census shows Martha as the name they living in Missouri by this time and then 1880 it looks like another lady
and on the 1870 census is a Susan, Amanda, and Flemming it says that head of House is Henry from North Carolina and his spouse I guess and she is 20 years younger and name is Martha A and she is from Kentucky they are in Missouri

Flemming Cope is a farm hand 1870 census says the other two on the 1870 census are Susan which maybe Sarah from the 1860 census and Amanda got to find information on her and Martha A maybe Mary from the 1860 census but it saying she is from Kentucky is another issue, I believe I'm going to hold off to someone else may know more, Thanks

Records to consider...

  • "Missouri Marriages, 1750-1920," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V2DX-9G4 : 6 December 2014), Henry Cope and Docia See, 07 Aug 1864; citing Schuyler,Missouri; FHL microfilm 1,012,035. (Notes: I also saw Docia spelled Dotia. Is "Dovie" in the 1880 census really some version of Docia/Dotia? Also, "See" was a married last name for Docia/Dotia, not her maiden name.)
  • "United States Census, 1850," database with images, FamilySearch  (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M4BW-4WS : 9 November 2014), Henry Cope, Burke county, part of, Burke, North Carolina, United States; citing family 783, NARA microfilm publication M432 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.).
  • "North Carolina, County Marriages, 1762-1979 ," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QKJQ-X4G8 : 22 December 2016), H*y Cope in entry for James Cope and Charlot Fletcher, 06 May 1867; citing Wake, North Carolina, United States, p. , Office of Archives and History, Division of Archives and Records. State Archive of North Carolina and various county Register of Deeds; FHL microfilm 2,242,683.
