John Bissell (1591-1677)

John has a great profile. Unfortunately there are no sources on the information in his profile.

Does he have an article in the Great Migration Series?

Is there a Bissell Family Genealogy or some such title that may contain all this information?

Is the bio that's there copy/paste from another website?

Can we put a source on all those statement's?

Are there other items of interest?

Some suggested places to look.

Thanks everyone

I'd like to check for free space source pages to add to make inline citations easier. If there isn't any, I can look for the data to create them.
Great idea Pat. I see someone's added some sources to the profile.
This profile needs a new review. 3 disproven wives, wife is stated to be unknown, but a wife who appears to be a combination of names of two disproven wives is now attached absent any documentation.

There is no Great Migration Featured Article.

The GM directory lists the following sources.

  • Grant 10, 23 Matthew Grant Directory - his sons birth and 2nd m. I added this..
  • CCCR 1:55  The Public Records of the Colony of Connecticut, 1636-1776, 15 volumes (Hartford 1850-1890)
  • WiLR 1: 53 WiLR: Windsor, Connecticut, Deeds (microfilm of original at Connecticut State Library, Hartford, Connecticut) This isn't online
  • TAG (The American Genealogist) 26: 84-94 175-86; 27: 100-1 232-33;
  • Windsor Hist 2: 76-77 Stiles, Henry Reed The History and Genealogies of Ancient Windsor, Connecticut (Hartford, Connecticut, Case, Lockwood & Brainard company, 1891-2) 2 vols.  I was reading something about this that says it's not 100% accurate.

Thank you, Anne, for taking my idea and running with it. You already posted the sources I found and the other sources on the profile I'm having difficulty finding enough data to make a free-space page for them.

I had an issue that came up about my source links not appearing correctly on displays using landscape configuration. (Most of my displays are configured as portrait.) I have to find all the errors and correct them.
