Do you know this Canadian Girouard family?

Question

I have tried in vain to find a source for Antoine Girouard and his spouse. I have a subscription to Ancestry.com and have tried to find them on the Drouin collection but am not finding them. Being from Louisiana, I don't have a strong knowledge of Canadian genealogical records. His father Pierre needs a better source and his mother needs sourcing.  All of his siblings are unsourced. Database error #803 Nearly Empty Profile.

I have found Antoine Girouard born in 1754 Son of Pierre and Cecile D'etcheverry. She died in Petit-Dégrat, Isle-Madame, Nova Scotia, Canada

I added a few baptism copies for Pierre's siblings from Saint-Charles-des-Mines in Grand Pré.

You could also add 'quebecois' as a tag. There is a large contingent of Quebecois researchers and a Quebecois Project here on WikiTree.

What do you know about Antoine? How did you get to him? Do you know where he died or have any Census records? Was he married?

Even a brief narrative outlining your roadblocks, what you have or haven't been able to find will help other researchers help you.

Thanks for the reply. There are a bunch of Girouard profiles that were uploaded to WikiTree back in 2012. I have been trying to source the orphans for a few years now and am down to these. I don't have any more information for them. I don't know if they qualify for the Quebecois Project or not. They were Acadian so far as I can determine.

For what it is worth, there are several trees on Ancestry with this family.

Of course, the information is questionable at best, it's hard to know which is the original tree and who is just copying the others. One tree does identify Pierre and Cecile as Mi'kmaq, but the children are born all over the place, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec, and my favourite, Luxembourg!

Here are some of the assorted 'facts':

Pierre (Senior) 1727 - 1770 Isle Madame, Nova Scotia; or died after Sep 1771

Cecile/Celine Madeleine/Cecile dit Joanis 1732 - 1770 St. Peter's, Nova Scotia; or, after Sep 1771

Pierre (Junior) 1764 - 1811

Paul 1752 - 1815

Jean Baptiste 1752 - 1799 Isle Madame, NS; another gives dates of 31 Oct 1762 - 8 Jan 1758 (yes, he somehow was born after he died)

Joseph 1756 - ?

Victoire/Victoria 22 Apr 1760 Cape Breton, Nova Scotia - 16 Oct 1832 Tracadie, Nova Scotia or Antigonish, NS

Honoré 9 Feb 1763 - 1792

Augustin 1760 - 1842

Jean Ignace 8 Dec 1767 - 6 Nov 1842

Marie Monique 1771 Cape Breton, Nova Scotia - 21 Aug 1854 Arichat, Nova Scotia

Etc Etc... maybe it would be worth sending messages to the tree owners to see if someone has sources??
