John Henry Smith's son was James Henry Smith b. 1828. Was Henry a family name? Attended Good Hope Baptist Church on Hway 178 between Saluda and Greenwood.

Is that Edgefield North Carolina? I want to be sure where to look but you didn't put that down. I know that you know but sometimes, there are others with the same name and some probably won't know anything about the church on Hwy 178. Saluda and Greenwood also can be in N.C. or they could be elsewhere you never can tell. So please let us know where to look. We need a county name always in searching. nancy

Well, I didn't really know where to look but I did try North Carolina, but South Carolina came up, and I am assuming that is where your intentions were. but I did find John Henry Smith and his son James Henry Smith and so far those are the only 2 I found that had the name of Henry. But now of course, sometimes the middle name is not written down. So I just don't know but I can tell you that:

John Henry Smith Born 22 Feb 1801 Edgefield, Edgefield, South Carolina. Died 1860 South Carolina.   Spouse is Martha Christie B. 1803 Georgia and died 1870 in Edgefield, S.C.  They married in 1827. Edgefield S.C.

Their children are: 1. James Henry Smith -B. 10 Feb 1828 Edgefield, Edgefield, S.C. ;  #2. James Mark Smith B. 24 Feb 1830 Edgefield; 3. John Simeon Smith b. 24 March 1833 Edgefield;  4. Martha Smith - b. 1835 Edgefield; 5. Emily Smith - b. May 1840 South Carolina; #6. Mary Smith -b. 1846 S.C. .

I have misplaced my notes, so let me get back to you on John's parents. Thanks. Nancy
