My grandmother was adopted in the late 1800's in Indiana, wand to research this info

Ethel Devora Lawson Morris was born July 29, 1894 in Vanderburg Co., IN. and adopted by by Elisha and Hannah Lawson from McLeansboro, IL.  She found her biological mother, but none of her living decendants have this information.  Where should we research this info?
