Unmanaged profiles list?

I'm not entirely sure I'm asking this in the right category, but I am curious if there is a list of unmanaged profiles that we can access.

There is a previous post on this topic. But, I can't find it

I just type in a surname and look to see which have no profile manager.

That's Michelle! That's a good solution in the interim. :)

Hi Eowyn,

Unfortunately we don't have a utility for easily finding orphaned profiles. We should.

We've worked on it, but it's not ready yet. I'll raise the priority.

Awesome. I figured if something didn't exist, something was in the works because you are guys are just all awesome like that.
Good to hear!
Hi Chris....

Was wondering in reference to orphaned profiles, could that also not be a category, then people would be able to pull up a list? Not sure exactly how the categories work, but I would be willing to put in the templates on those I come across if a template were created.  Would that be helpful do you know?  Assuming everyone can pull up categories that are being worked on that is. :)
Hi Betty,

Coincidentally, I'm working on the "adoption" utility right now. Still not sure when it will be released, but it's in the works.

In the meantime, I'd hate to see anyone put much effort into manual categorization. That certainly would be a solution, but an automated solution would be better, and we'll get one eventually.

Thanks again, to everyone, for wanting to take responsibility for these profiles.

Chris
Automatic is nice.  :)  Just thought it might be something that could be done in the meantime if and when people come across them.  I like the automatic idea the best tho. LOL
Me Too!

FYI, the plan has come together over the past hour. Here's an outline of how we think it will work.

It will be an independent utility, something like BrowseMatches, rather than just an index. It will probably display the fist 50 or so orphans it finds.

Like on BrowseMatches, you'll be able to drill down and limit it by surname, e.g. see the first 50 Schmoe orphans.

Then, by each name, they'll be a link to adopt the family line. For example, if you click on Joe Schmoe it will show all his ancestors and descendants that are orphans.

All three levels will look the same. They'll be checklists where you can click a single button to adopt selected profiles.

The hold up on this is that we need to do some deep database stuff to make it all efficient.

Woo Hoo! I'm excitedsmiley My fingers will be happy when this is done!

Sounds fantastic to me!  Can't wait to give it a try! :)  Thanks Chris!
