What is happening to the surname sort lists?

Question

I searched previously Hiempel and it showed 50 profiles with that name. Today Nov 22 2016 it shows 0.

Have we got a "worm" eating them up?

Follow up.

Were there changes in the format used on the space pages lately? A change to the layout would change some content. The only change I've been able to pinpoint was the thumbnail used for primary photos.

I have been able to get the photo thumbnail back to primary. I had to remark the primary box and it is working now on all pages.

There seems to be a bug that the team is aware of and working to fix. If you go to the surname list and the names don't show, click on the link that says "resort the table." You will get a list of the names at that time.

I did that and it didn't help this time. I also noticed several things missing from the Hempel Space pages for Hempel Name Study and the log shows no activity.  This is BAD!

I tried it, too. And got the same result you did – nothing. Which is weird, because I tried a couple of other names and they work fine.

The other day it was the ones at the end of the alphabet; today it is the alternates of Hempel. These had 50 or more previously. The space page had alternate names listed. Not now. It had a picture selected and shown as primary, not now. Picture still there, but not on front page primary spot.

Can you point to any specific Hiempel profiles that are missing from the index? Is it possible they were deleted or merged-away?

As for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Hempel_Name_Study I don't follow you. What is missing? I see that you edited the tags (note on that: they should be listed individually, e.g. hempel in one field, heimpel in another).

Sorry Chris. I can't pin point them except that when none hour there are 50 names listed and the next day 0.

As to the space Hempel page, we had the thumbnail picture of a Hempel on the front page and now it is missing. I can not get it to accept it as primary for some reason. None of the others changed anything and no record of its removal.

I was told that some of the templates may have been changed. Would this restrict the primary photo from appearing on the front? Nothing on the page indicates that.

We were "locked out" from searching the last half of the surnames on Sun and it has increased in that number. Resorting the names brought them back for awhile and then it had no affect at all.
50 profiles don't get merged or otherwise disappear that quick.

I can only work with what is there, but this indicated a big problem and I was told that I had caught a bug after Sunday's data.

I don't cry Wolf. I just let you know what I know. I was afraid it might be a worm or virus. After 55 years using a computer, it flashes RED.
